Experience the transcendental beauty of one of the Australian Chamber Orchestra’s most extraordinary and talked-about concerts.
Filmed live in April 2009 at the State Theatre in Sydney, this ground-breaking collaboration is a fusion of image, music and voice. The concert showcases the photography of acclaimed Australian artist Bill Henson with the musical talents of the ACO Artistic Director Richard Tognetti and stunning vocalist Katie Noonan. Projections of Henson’s sublime, dream-like photographs glow in the darkness, mixing with a haunting soundscape of classical and contemporary compositions.
Composer and sound sculptor Paul Healy has joined these elements into a seamless whole, travelling from Benjamin Britten’s Corpus Christi Carol to R.E.M.’s I’ve Been High, and through dark and difficult contemporary works by composers such as Alfred Schnittke and Peteris Vasks.
