In 2004 an unknown cricket team ventured to India with little fan fare. They left in search of one last glorious innings. They never expected to make history in the Kingdom of Bhutan.
Like so many Australian kids, the future GCC once dreamt of becoming famous cricketers; of joining Australia's sporting legacy among the great players of years past. But funny enough, things hadn't exactly turned out that way.
Now, 20 years later, on the cusp of sporting oblivion, sixteen men return to the game they loved as boys to form The Guild Cricket Club (GCC). All former backyard heroes, they assemble together on the strength of their collective imagination, determined to carry the larrikin spirit of Australia into the battlefields of Indian cricket.
Now, this fly-on-the-wall documentary delivers the minor victories; the devastating defeats and the hilarious culture shock as The GCC follow their dream toward an historic final showdown in the Kingdom of Bhutan, a nation whose own cricketing legacy finds itself irreversibly tied with that of a rag-bag Aussie team.
